When will I receive my ballot and voting package?
What Is a ranked ballot?
A ranked ballot allows you to vote for candidates in the order of your preference

Ranking The Candidates
If you are supporting Naheed Nenshi (thank you!) you mark him as your first choice (1), your next preferred candidate as your second choice (2), and so on. You can rank as many or as few candidates as you like.

How Votes Are Counted
  • Initially, all first-choice votes are counted. If a candidate receives more than 50% of these first-preference votes, they are declared the winner.
  • If no candidate receives more than 50% of the first-preference votes, the candidate with the fewest first-preference votes is eliminated. The votes for this candidate are then redistributed to the voters’ next preferred candidates, as indicated on their ballots.
  • This process of elimination and redistribution continues until a candidate gains more than 50% of the votes.
You can vote either online, by phone or by mail.
How do I vote online or by phone?
Everything you need to vote online or by phone is found in your voting package – including your voting PIN and the website site address and phone number where you vote.

If you’re voting online and supporting Jodi Calahoo Stonhouse, when prompted to rank the candidates click the box next to Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse name first and a “1” will appear. Continue to click for your remaining choices in the order you choose to rank the candidates.

By phone, choose Jodi Calahoo Stonhouse as your first selection when prompted.

You may make as many or few choices as you want. A ballot with at least one choice will be a valid ballot.
How do I vote by mail?
Please follow the following instructions if you choose to vote by mail.
  1. Rank your choices on the ballot.  If you are supporting Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse, mark a “1” besides his name.  You rank your 2nd choice with a (2), your third choice with a “3” and your fourth choice with a “4”.  You must rank at least one candidate for your vote to be counted. Note:  You must use numbers and you must not repeat any numbers. Do not use checkmarks, “x”s, letters, or other marks.
  2. Place the ballot in the white envelope marked “Ballot Secrecy Envelope”
  3. Sign the declaration form.
  4. Detach and insert the declaration form and the Ballot Secrecy Envelope into the yellow envelope
